Meet Our Doctor

Dr. James E. Sorge grew up in Cache Valley in northern Utah. He graduated from BYU and completed his Doctor of Medical Dentistry with honors from Oregon Health Sciences University, located in Portland, Oregon, in 1998. Shortly thereafter, he moved with his family to Fallbrook, located in the San Diego North County area. For 23 years, he practiced in the ‘Avocado Capital’ of the world before relocating to Orange County to practice in San Clemente.

Along with providing general and family dental care, Dr. Sorge has furthered his career by studying advances in cosmetic dentistry, implantology (dental implants), orthodontics (braces), TMJ disorders and dental sleep medicine. He has lectured to various medical and dental organizations. Dr. Sorge has taken part in humanitarian projects from Oregon to California to the islands of the South Pacific.

He has also received the San Diego Reader’s People Choice “Best of the Best” award and is a leader amongst his peers, receiving the San Diego’s “Top Dentist” award for 14 consecutive years: 2007-2021.

Dr. Sorge is an active member of several professional affiliations, including the American Dental Association®, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.

He and his wife, Katherine, have four children and two grandchildren. They enjoy spending time with family and friends, trying new foods, golfing, hiking, and snorkeling. You can find Dr. Sorge in quieter times with a good book or puzzle.
